14C28N is a top-grade knife steel that has a unique combination of excellent edge retention, high hardness and good corrosion resistance. A very fine grain structure gives good edge stability in terms of chipping and rolling. This is a great all-round steel which is suited to a wide variety of cutting tasks, from kitchen knives, to fishing knives and most in-between!

Suggested Heat Treatments:
Heat to 1050C (Hold for 5 minutes)
Air or Oil Quench (Suggested Oil is Rye 32)
Optional – Cool to -70C
Temper twice for two hours at 150C for 60HRc or 225C for 58HRc
 
Supplied Cold Rolled Annealed in 600mm Lengths.
