Refractory Mortar can be used in a number of useful ways. Mix it into a slurry and coat the inside of a gas furnace to protect it from flux. It can be made into a paste for hamons (this works really well with the 26C3/SheffCut/1095/1084) or it can be made into a thin wash and applied to the entire blade to protect against scale forming!
