Elmax – Uddeholm’s 3rd Generation Powder Metallurgy Steel. One of the best-balanced stainless steels available, combining corrosion resistance, edge stability and toughness. Uddeholms PM process reduces the grain size and helps with carbide distribution. Elmax can support not only very fine high, highly polished edges, but also very coarse aggressive edges. This is Uddeholms Flagship Knife Steel and it’s difficult to find a better all-round, balanced stainless steel!

Suggested Heat Treatments:
Heat to 1080C (Hold for 20 minutes)
Air or Oil Quench (Suggested Oil is Rye 32)
Optional Sub-Zero (Cryo or Dry Ice) Treatment
Temper twice for two hours at 250C for 60/61HRc
Supplied Surface Ground Annealed in 600mm Lengths.
